A Story Written by Grace
Chapter One
The Little Town in Wales
Once upon a time, in the small and rather unassuming town of Treforest, South Wales, two worlds were quietly existing side by side.
Treforest was home to two University of South Wales campuses — Treforest and Glyntaff — and every September, the town came alive with the arrival of a new generation of students.
Among the bustle of university life, friendships were formed, dreams were discovered, and perhaps, unbeknownst to them, one very special story was about to begin.
Neither of them knew it yet.
But somewhere between lecture halls, student societies and ordinary September days, God was already writing their story.

Chapter Two
An Unexpected Encounter
It was Fresher’s Week, and the university was filled with colourful stalls, eager students and societies calling out for new members.
Among them stood a small Christian society — perhaps not the coolest or most popular society on campus, but one with a much greater purpose.
She stood at her post, introducing students to Jesus, inviting them into fellowship and encouraging them to join a small group.
Then, one ordinary day, a group of young men wandered past.
They stopped.
They talked.
And somewhere among them was a very fyyyyyn young man.
But before anyone gets carried away — reel your minds back in! This was simply a lovely encounter between strangers who had no idea that their paths would cross again.
Or perhaps, more accurately, that their paths had already been divinely aligned.
Chapter Three
A Birthday, a Prayer and a Plate of Food
Their first conversations were simple.
A birthday message here. A phone call there. A prayer offered over the phone.
She had made it a habit to reach out to people she met through evangelism, praying for them on their birthdays and checking in from time to time.
He was no exception.
Then came an invitation.
Fifolu invited her and her friends to his home to celebrate his birthday with him and his friends. He promised to cook for everyone.
She could hardly believe her ears.
A man cooking for a crowd?
And so, among laughter, friendship, good food and shared moments, another little seed was planted.
Neither knew what it would become.

Chapter Four
Getting to Know You
As the seasons changed, so did their friendship.
One evening, Fifolu called to ask whether she knew of Jackie Hill Perry and the P4CM platform.
Little did he know, he had found someone who had been listening to Christian spoken word since 2012.
Soon they were talking about Jackie Hill Perry, Lecrae, Trip Lee and the kind of music that encouraged their faith.
But it wasn’t only the conversations that drew them closer.
It was the little things.
His kindness.
His thoughtfulness.
The way he noticed things.
The way he offered to help, even when he didn’t yet know how — willing to learn simply because he cared.
And slowly, almost imperceptibly, friendship began to feel like something more.
Chapter Five
30 March 2018
They had first met in September 2017.
Six months later, on the 30th of March 2018, two people who had once been complete strangers made a decision to officially commit themselves to one another.
What began at a university society stall had become something neither of them could have planned.
Their worlds had collided.
And somehow, they fit.
Chapter Six
A Day of Intentionality
For their first date, Fifolu decided that ordinary simply wouldn’t do.
There was a football match at Wembley — England versus Nigeria — followed by dinner at The Shard, and then, to finish the adventure, the On the Run Tour concert.
It wasn’t merely a collection of exciting experiences.
It was thoughtful.
Each part of the day reflected something they loved, something they had spoken about, or something they had once casually mentioned.
She hadn’t asked for any of it.
She hadn’t even known that some of it was coming.
But he had remembered.
And perhaps that was the most beautiful part — he was already showing her that love could be found in paying attention.

Chapter Seven
And They Kept Choosing Each Other
What followed was not simply a romance, but a journey.
Eight years of memories.
Eight years of laughter, prayer, growth, adventures, conversations, challenges and countless little moments that slowly became a life shared between two people.
The boy she met at a Fresher’s Fair became her friend.
Her friend became her love.
And her love became her home.
Through every chapter, God remained the author, quietly joining together two lives that had once been moving in completely different directions.
Two worlds had collided.
And instead of falling apart, they became one story.
Chapter Eight
Where One Chapter Ended
And then came the day of the proposal.
For this final date, Fifolu took her back to where they had shared their first dinner date.
Back to the beginning.
Back to the place where another chapter had once opened.
But this time, they weren’t returning as two people wondering where their story might lead.
They returned with years of memories behind them and a lifetime waiting ahead.
It was time to close the chapter of dating.
And as he asked her to marry him, one beautiful chapter came to an end so that an even greater one could begin.

Epilogue
Still Writing the Story
Once upon a time, two strangers met in a small town in Wales.
One was standing at a Christian society stall.
The other was simply walking by.
Neither knew that an ordinary encounter would become an extraordinary love story.
But God did.
And so, what began with a conversation at Fresher’s Fair became years of friendship, love, adventure and commitment.
The proposal was not the end of their story.
It was the beginning of forever.
And they lived happily ever after — not because the story was perfect, but because the Author was.
